Join us for a STEM Careers Day, where students will hear from a panel of three industry professionals about their career paths and experiences. After the discussion, students will take part in four hands-on workshops, rotating through activities that showcase real-world applications of STEM skills. It's a chance to explore different career options and get a taste of what working in STEM is really like.
The panel is one hour with time to hear from each speaker, plus a Q&A at the end.
The speakers for Thursday 8th May are experts in:
Cyber security
Civil engineering
Haematology
The four workshops will each run for 30 minutes. The presenters will engage the students in their fields of:
Infectious disease transmission and modelling
Data and algorithms in marketing
Prevention and treatment of knee/ACL injuries
Workshop 4 - details to come
This event can accommodate up to 100 students and is aimed at students in years 10-12. We are holding another Careers Day on Thursday 23rd October for year 7-9 students; however, if you have younger students with a particular interest in one or more of the above fields, please get in contact with us to discuss.
