Students in Years 3 to 4 explore the wonder of science through the following hands-on activities including:
Science of Slime
Students investigate how different fluids behave and make two different types of slime.
Wacky Water
Students look at how the surface tension of water differs depending on what the water is in contact with and make drawings float on water!
Chemical Testing
Students discover that solutions used in our daily lives can be classified as acids or bases. Students use litmus paper to determine if every day solutions are acidic or basic and gain an understanding of what it means if a solution is an acid or if it is a base.
Magnetic Forces!
Students investigate the properties of magnets and discover that not all metals are influenced by a magnetic force!
This event is free for Victorian government schools, funded by the Department of Education.
