Makey Makey
Students investigate measurement and the properties of electricity and the role of conductors and insulators in electronic circuits through a series of investigations and experiments.
Makey Makey is available through the following program types. Select a program type to view more information.
On-Site at Quantum Victoria
Students will conduct experiments to explore measurement and electrical circuit concepts through:
measuring the mass and volume of substances needed to make playdough
conductors and insulators
a Makey Makey kitÂ
An extension module complementing the onsite program is available for you to download. This module consists of a student workbook and teacher resource book with solutions. An online module is also available for your students to complete.
Online Portal
This module offers explores electricity including:
electric circuits
renewable and non-renewable sources of electricity
transportation of electricity
electrical safety
The module enables students to relate to real world usage of familiar electrical circuits and appliances/devices using multiple activities.
Asynchronous (Self Delivery)
Students work through activities with a focus on electrical safety. This module consists of a student workbook and accompanying teacher resource book with solutions.
The workbook has three activities:
Electrical Safety - investigate why we have rules/guidelines around electricity (1-1.5 hours)
Poster - create an electrical safety poster (3-4.5 hours)
Playdough - explore different ratios of playdough ingredients (2-3 hours)
